Individual arrival in Maratea and accommodation check-in. The afternoon is dedicated to a bike tour of the historic center (located at an altitude of 310 meters on the slopes of Mount San Biagio) and its coastal hamlets, from Fiumicello to Cersuta, Acquafredda, and the Port area. The urban route winds through cobbled alleys, main squares such as Piazza Buraglia, and historic sites including the Mother Church of Santa Maria Maggiore.

Leaving the Val d'Agri behind, the route follows ridge roads and countryside tracks alongside orchards and sections of the Apulian Aqueduct. After a gentle uphill stretch, the climb leads to Aliano, the village famous for Carlo Levi's exile. From the town, the ride crosses the Aliano Badlands Park (Parco dei Calanchi) before ascending to Tursi, an ancient town known for its steep ravines (jaramme) and the historic Rabatana district—a maze of stone and brick dwellings set among dramatic clay formations.

Leaving Craco, the day concludes in Pisticci, a hilltop town famous for its whitewashed historic districts.

The stage finishes in Matera, arriving in Piazza Vittorio Veneto for a panoramic lookout over the famous Sassi.
