Start your morning on MTB for an unforgettable adventure in the spectacular Casentino Forests. Ride up to Pietrapazza, at the foothills of Monte Carpano, and continue towards the picturesque Lake Ridracoli. Take in the breathtaking views of the lake before embarking on the trail known as "the most beautiful forest track in Italy." This extraordinary route, situated in the heart of the Casentino Forests National Park, follows the path of a historic decauville railway once used for timber transport.Proceed to La Lama, where you will have access to the ancient beech forests of the Park. Here, you can immerse yourself in a pristine natural environment and feel the full power of untouched nature. The Lama plateau, the natural heart of the Park, is the ideal spot for a refreshing break. After exploring this wonder, the trail will guide you back towards Cancellino and finally to Badia Prataglia. Free evening for dinner and overnight stay
Leaving this charming village behind, you'll head towards Chiusi la Verna, partially following the Dante Trail in Casentino. This enchanting route passes through areas often overlooked by hikers who, in this beautiful part of Casentino, tend to visit the more famous destinations like La Verna and Badia Prataglia.Through this itinerary, you'll have the opportunity to explore both locations, but via lesser-known, picturesque paths. Upon reaching Chiusi, you'll encounter the ancient cobbled path rising from La Beccia, the main pedestrian access to the monastic citadel. Along this path, nearly eight centuries ago, Saint Francis climbed the mountain for the first time, greeted by a flock of birds in celebration. Arrive at your hotel for a delightful dinner and a restful overnight stay.
After breakfast at the hotel, embark on a bike journey back to Bagno di Romagna, starting with a gravel path leading to Montalone. This segment is incredibly beautiful and offers panoramic views. The route continues through a forest of beech and poplar trees before a long descent into Valsavignone, the first village touched by the Tiber River. This hamlet, developed around an ancient castle along the old "Romipeda" road, is still in Tuscany within the municipality of Pieve Santo Stefano.Following the Tiber on a paved road, head towards Monte Coronaro. As you enter Romagna, you’ll encounter the Savio River and cross the Verghereto Pass, descending swiftly into Bagno di Romagna. Upon arrival at the lodging, prepare for departure to your respective destinations.Farewell from Romagna!
