More information regarding the time and meeting point for the first/last day will be provided after the booking.
Arrival at the accommodation and test of rented bikes. Dinner on your own and overnight stay.
After breakfast, we depart for the province of Chieti, heading towards the Costa dei Trabocchi. This ride will take us to visit Ortona, where we’ll see the Aragonese Castle before exploring the historic center and stopping for coffee. We’ll then set off towards San Vito Chietino, taking the Trabocchi bike path, passing through the Acquabella reserve and crossing the Moro River (a historic site of the great battle of Ortona). Along the way, we’ll see the first trabocchi (the very first one is the Mucchiola), followed by a visit to the fishing village of San Vito and a gelato break. Continuing on the bike path, we’ll pass Rocca San Giovanni and arrive at Fossacesia Marina. For those interested, there’s an option to climb (6%) to the Abbey of San Giovanni in Venere, where you can enjoy a beautiful visit to the cloister and the Romanesque Benedictine interiors. Arrival at the hotel. Dinner on your own and overnight stay.
After breakfast and watching the sunrise (for those who wake up early), we depart for Vasto Marina along the Trabocchi Cycle Path, reaching Casalbordino Lido and taking the trail of the Punta Aderci Reserve, where we will admire the beauty of nature with the Punta Aderci trabocco nestled in the bay of the same name. We continue towards Punta Penna and arrive at Vasto Marina at the monument dedicated to the bather, which leads us into the Gulf of Vasto, where our tour concludes. Arrival at the hotel. Dinner on your own and overnight stay.
After breakfast, departure from Vasto with a transfer to Francavilla al Mare, where you will have left your cars. End of services.
